An Ode to Beach.....

Dear Ocean

Whenever I came closer to you, you walked the extra steps to appease me. You would drench me, push me, make my clothes wet, leave my limbs smeared with sand, ruffle my hair and in many other ways you made me realise that you are the one. On occasions you teased me by taking away my slippers and giving them back.

In Goa, you treated me differently, you had other elevated things in Velankanni whereas in Dhanushkodi, you served me the completeness I was looking for weeks, months and years.

There, you played as my soul mate, beloved, comforter, therapist, counsellor, anchor, and endlessly in that order. I do not want to say thank you, but want to remain drowned in that feeling of being thankfulness. Before the trip I never imagined I would bump into my best place in the world.

Oh My Dear Ocean!!!!!!

Thank you for giving me the chance to stay away from all the worldly treasures; people or technology, family or friends. It actually feels incredible to stay away from the man-made superficial world as I consider all these are the store house of stress and negativity.

Thank you for being the best story teller and singer who never gets tired and keeps on supporting me. You are not just an emotional supporter but a perfect therapeutic experience.

Thank you for allowing me to feel the sun at its strongest. Being my lover you allowed the sun to kiss my skin and gain the color back that the winter had stolen from me.

Thank you for the endless kiss. The soft touch of the high tide to my toes and the warm, soft but a tight hug of the cool breeze makes me feel on the top of the world.

Thank you for giving me the sense of belongingness. Thank you for making me yours and being mine.

Thank you for giving me space. You have given me the space to dream, space to think, space to breathe peacefully, space to feel myself. I admire you endlessly and the high tide and the expansion of water invites me to let my heart and soul expand too.

Thank you for curing all my wounds, sharing my sorrows and being so humble. You make me feel tiny. I would always love to be near you.

I know you and want to know you more. You have a great fan following as many love you and you too make them feel happy. They say that you are scary but to me you are a big moody. Sometimes you seem to be so calm but the very next moment you seem to be so violent, still I love you roaring because it seems that you call me.

Can I call you my better half? I feel secure and find myself at peace when I am with you. You give me pause and relaxation and fill me with peace, optimism and possibility. You continuously renew yourself and give me whatever you have likewise I too have learnt to reinvent my future.

THANK YOU ....

  1. I love your madness.
I see boundless sanity and sense in your madness.
As Shakespearian character would say "there is method in his (for Hamlet) madness ..."

  2. Back from Kashmir tour organized by Tulika Anand/ Travel Express with Mastani Musafir. Some feedback for those interested in joining her future group travel.

It was one of the most unorganized group tour I had ever joined. I never received complete
tour program despite asking multiple times. My suggestion to those interested would
be to get detailed program in writing before making any advance payment to
her. I experienced many discrepancies in the program sketch she shared vs reality.
Even hotel details were not provided until asked multiple times. How can one be
expected to travel without even knowing accommodation details?
Pahalgam stay was dropped without any intimation on account of severe cold whereas out of 4 cities I visited Pahalgam weather was most pleasant.
Bone-fire which was promised as complimentary never happened
No refund was paid for changes made in the program. We know Pahalgam hotels
are expensive as compared to Srinagar ones.
In Gulmarg, group was made to hire a guide for a task which she should have handled. The group was told that the guide will purchase gandola tickets in advance whereas we were made to stand in Queue for one and half hours for phase 2, and no, guide did not purchase tickets in
advance. He collected money from us after reaching Phase 1 and then purchased tickets.
Other than Gulmarg, she never joined group for any outing. Stayed in her room mostly,
showed up briefly during breakfast and dinner.
I was never informed that only one airport transfer for the group was being organized.
Neither the efforts were made to alert group to arrive/depart around the same time.
Srinagar local sightseeing could not be done due to poor planning.

If anyone plans to join her tour for being low cost, think again, as soon as one lands in Kashmir, expenditures start on some account or another. The cost of the tour comes to the same as being asked by other tour operators.

If it was not for Fayez Bhai’s (houseboat owner) hospitality and the group members’ enthusiasm, the tour would have been a complete white wash due to hiding/not sharing information, poor organization

and nil involvement of Tulika Anand on the ground.
