Spiritual Pushkar and its material magic

Padhaaroni Mahre Des Re!!!!

Apart from the barren and dusty desert, amidst the hilly and mountainous region of Rajasthan, there is a hidden gem surrounded by hills and sandy plains. Often thronged by foreigners, some with colourful Bandej turban, a visit to the holy village Pushkar during the chilly winter was something unplanned and sudden.
I had a plan to explore the Punjabi tadka and was set to go to Amritsar but I think that was not to be. Being only 146 km from Jaipur, it was an easy escape, and being on Sakrat, it made all the sense ultimately.
At Pushkar Ghat

I reached Pushkar early morning and headed to the Brahma Ghat. I sat on the edge of the holy lake as I always liked to see ripples across a vast stretch of waters particularly when ducks and other winged wonders relish and revel in the undisturbed waters. I could also see some devout ladies on the ghats almost naked and taking bath in the sacred lake while others trying to recite the mantras that pundits urged them to do.
Sweepers brooming the stairs of the ghats in the early morning cold breeze, and Pundits arriving early and looking for spirituals seeking visitors gave company to the wafting from across some temples nearby.

Sharing my morning thoughts with the magical minions

I came across an uncle, a nearby villager, who had come to offer prayer to Lord Brahma and asked me to do the same. I was overjoyed and very much excited to do the ritual. It was for the first time in my life I chanted those mantras and offered prayers to Lord Brahma. Though it was lively and entertaining but I was trying to feel it even as I was finding difficult to realize the whole meaning. Though the ritual was of five minutes episode which I loved doing but it took me to a different world where I was very much confused to accept the concept of Hinduism which I have been taught to know by the pseudo-religious society.
It was the first time ever I was chanting those Mantras but somewhere I was trying to feel the pseudo-religious ritual

And the Day begins!!!!

Now it was the time to go for the camel Safari. On the way back I interacted with the locals and many a time I was sad to see the small kids hanging around and begging. The saddest thing I knew was that there are no nearby schools for them to get educated and there I saw the future of the country.
Interacting with locals is something that I love to do as I get so many things to learn.

😞😢 She doesn't want to study😞😢

Maare Des!!!!!
Travelling amid sands surrounded with mountains and climbing up to the Sand Dunes was providing a proper Rajasthani flavour.  I felt like I was a sparrow  sitting on the camel and chirping and singing all the way and was ready to fly high in the vast and beautiful blue sky.
Now my partner was ready to take me for a date!!!!!

Rajasthani culture is very invigorating and captivative. It is a blend of culture, tradition, colours and sounds. Dressed up in Rajasthani attire, taking goats for grazing and interacting with local children was forcing me to stay there with them for some more time but my wish was something which was not possible.

Lets Pose!!!!!

 Kesariya Baalam Aavoni......

Was just giving it a try

I was gifted two wonderful gifts from nature that became my best and loyal friend and taught me life lessons. The conversation went for hours. The first was a leafless tree and the other was the minions.  I felt there can never be a better friend than these two with whom I can share anything and everything. The most interesting thing is that one can find them anywhere. As I felt that they are the true meaning of a soul mate and I feel nature is magical.
And Yessss!!! I was in love❤️❤️
 And  the Best Part♥️♥️♥️♥️

Shopping is a bit of a relaxing hobby for me. I am more for the style and culture than the brand. Therefore I don’t go brand shopping; I go detail shopping. The narrow lanes and the street shops again added a typical Rajasthani essence.  The market around the Brahma Temple is a place where one can find stone and silver jewellery, antic jewellery. Apart from jewellery, the market is flooded with art and craftwork including Rajasthani puppets and apparels with tie & dye (Bandhani) print as well as the intricate mirror work.
A glimpse of  Rajasthani Jewelry

A small, tiny nest decorated with lights had drawn my attention and the shop is Macramogly. The name of the shop is a perfect blend of love for handicraft, culture and tradition.
Chota Pack!!!! Bada Dhamaaka!!!!

 Macramogly Shop
 Glimpse of their Hand-made products...
Let's have a look of the Chota Pack Bada Dhamaka!!!!
The shop has end numbers of antic jewelleries and I feel one may not find the replica of the collections of the earrings that the shop displays. I too purchased few earrings, and pendants.  In between, I was accompanied by a tharki and frightening aghori baaba.
He was truely frightning...

Guys!!!! There are more places to explore in Pushkar  but as it was a very short stay in Pushkar so I could not cover most of them. I just reached Pushkar early morning and the same day I had to return but yes the place is an all-time favourite destination and yes I would like to spend at least two to three days more to feel it.

  4. Nice Post ! During Pushkar Camel Fair, an influx in the tourist number may lead to accommodation problems. So, it's better to book the hotels in advance, either online or by reaching there a couple of days before. Accommodations are available in the local hotels, heritage hotels, and temporary luxurious desert tent camps.
