A Girl Who Grows Up On Trails of Solo Travel

Image
According to the general understanding, travel is to go from one place to another or undertake a journey from one place to another for different reasons. Be it leisure or any personal or personal needs. For me, travel is transcending. It is far more than its literal meaning of physical movement. Travelling is experiencing something new. Travel is religion and travelling seems to be more of a spiritual journey without religion. People who have never been anywhere alone describe their solo traveling as a life changing moment as it offers a platform to indulge yourself fully. I feel solo travelling has the power to bring about a complete change. It helps in raising questions inside me and sometimes when I do not get any answer, I consider no answer is the real answer. Solo travelling gives me the confidence to judge myself and identify who I am. To me solo travelling is transformative and eternally enriching. Counting My Blessings!!!! Few years back, I had never thought of living life on

An Ode to Beach.....

Dear Ocean Whenever I came closer to you, you walked the extra steps to appease me. You would drench me, push me, make my clothes wet, leave my limbs smeared with sand, ruffle my hair and in many other ways you made me realise that you are the one. On occasions you teased me by taking away my slippers and giving them back. In Goa, you treated me differently, you had other elevated things in Velankanni whereas in Dhanushkodi, you served me the completeness I was looking for weeks, months and years.   There, you played as my soul mate, beloved, comforter, therapist, counsellor, anchor, and endlessly in that order. I do not want to say thank you, but want to remain drowned in that feeling of being thankfulness. Before the trip I never imagined I would bump into my best place in the world. Oh My Dear Ocean!!!!!! Thank you for giving me the chance to stay away from all the worldly treasures; people or technology, family or friends. It actually feels incredible to stay away from the ma

From Biryani to Bakeries, Land of Nizams Still Holds The Ace

Hello!!!! Welcome!!!! Swagatam!!!! Khusamdeed!!!! were his (my Nizami friend) turn of phrases to introduce me to the City of Nizams when I came of the  Hyderabad airport. Travelling to Hyderabad was an official tour but I never miss an opportunity to indulge my pampering traveller’s self inaide me. The city’s storied cuisines had already had me on thrall while planning for the trip. As I made way through the city with the excitement of a place I had never been before, I realized that the city does not have a single tongue. Urdu, Hindi, Deccan Hindi, Telugu and few other languages spoken in Hyderabad spiced up the diversity that goes unnoticed. The City of Nizams is not confined to a blend of Hyderabad and Andhra culture but goes beyond that. Day 1 A few months back, the city was shocked with the brutal incident, “Priyanka Reddy’s rape and murder case”. Since I had felt the pain personally, I made a point to visit her place. Priyanka’s apartment was my first sto

My borderless Moorings at Wagah, in Flashback

My Borderless Moorings at Wagah, in Flashback Nowhere So Precious The Golden touch you get in Amritsar When you bring office to home, the first few days are exciting. But as days pass by, you realise that life is not the same and the imaginary happy feelings of “Work From Home” fades away. Despite all these, I squeezed some time to go back to some abandoned blogs. It seemed I have not missed a single detail of the trip to Amritsar even as a year has gone by. As I went down the memory lane, all the sweet memories of the trip made me believe that it had just happened yesterday. The word “Amritsar” creates images of a religious, traditional and a cultural hub of the Sikh community. Officially, the name of Golden Temple is Harmandir Sahib. But since it is layered with shiny gold plate, it has got a tag of Golden Temple.   My purpose of travelling to Amritsar was slightly different. It was not religious alone, but as a journey into the city’s history
